The grower's 2015 Syrah component was hand picked during the night at optimum ripeness. The tenderly de-stemmed whole berries were inoculated with yeast for alcoholic fermentation. Gentle-yet-maximum extraction of color, flavors and mouthfeel was facilitated by three-times-daily pump overs during fermentation. Then the wine underwent extended maceration to better balance the tannic structure. The wine was then aged in older-to-neutral French & American oak for 24 months. The tiny 2018 Lodi Syrah component freshens the older wine a bit.
