Slightly translucent brick more than garnet; medium-to-full body. Tightly wrapped but integrated plummy, mocha and wood nose over briary black earthy blackfruit. Good weight, feel, integration and balance, structure and extraction—almost ethereal plum dominated flavors over the rest of the nose flavors. Good length of flavors and finish.

"Sustainably grown grapes—no permit chemicals used. Vineyards are dry-farmed, head-trained and hand harvested. Healthy farming practices reduce the impact of pests. Only the finest clusters get selected for use in the wines. Barrel fermentation for all reds yields heightened aromatics, integration of alcohol & fresh fruit flavors. Older vineyard components were aged in French then American oak, younger solely in American oak. "

Why We Love It

In The Wee Small Hours: Behind the Label

The name, Small Hours, is a reference to Frank Sinatra’s classic album, “In the Wee Small Hours,” a musical catharsis released shortly after his infamous breakup with Ava Gardner. The label itself is an homage to the classic cover art from that album, with mirrored colors, fonts, tone, and lights. Even the wardrobe and attitude reflect Frankie’s tilted fedora and almost-forgotten cigarette.
