In partnership with the Living Beyond Breast Cancer (LBBC) organization, Traveling Vineyard is honored to release a new vintage of our Rayado Cabernet Sauvignon, a charity wine benefiting women living with breast cancer. LBBC is a non-profit organization that connects people with trusted breast cancer information and a community of support. One dollar from the sale of each bottle of Rayado Cabernet Sauvignon, Central Valley, Chile, will be donated to LBBC in support of its mission.
Rayado was originally inspired by Paigeann Mapley-Brittle, one of our own Wine Guides who was diagnosed with breast cancer multiple times and bravely battled the disease until she passed away in 2012 at age 42. Paigeann, a devoted wife, mother, friend and enthusiastic member of our wine family, touched many lives and inspired us with her courage and her compassion for others.
Paigeann’s husband, US army officer Jon Mapley-Brittle, explains that “during her battle with breast cancer, Paigeann vowed that she would not let the disease define her nor change who she was and what she did. She fought cancer three separate times and managed to run a full and a half marathon after her first chemo to raise funds for cancer research. Her cancer came back twice and the third time it was just too aggressive. But, she was a fighter until the end.”
Our Chief Grape Stomper, Rick Libby, believed strongly that we had a responsibility to support women like Paigeann and their families whose lives have been impacted by breast cancer. Traveling Vineyard released the first vintage of Rayado Cabernet Sauvignon in 2013 in honor of Paigeann, and we’ve donated a total of $110,416 to LBBC to date since then (September 2022). We look forward to increasing that figure again this year.
“We’re proud to offer Rayado Cabernet Sauvignon in partnership with Living Beyond Breast Cancer. This is a cause that matters deeply to our entire organization and to our customers, because it touches us all.” – Rick Libby
According to the American Cancer Society, 287,850 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed in 2022. And, 1 in 8 women will receive a breast cancer diagnosis in her lifetime. Many Wine Guides in our Traveling Vineyard family have been impacted by breast cancer. Our goal is to make a difference with Rayado through LBBC and its “vision of creating a world where no one impacted by breast cancer feels uninformed or alone.”

Traveling Vineyard is proud to offer our Cabernet Sauvignon as a charity wine benefitting the Living Beyond Breast Cancer organization for the fifth year in a row.
