For good feels and good health, our resident Wine Guide, guest blogger, and certified yoga instructor, Morgan Williams, is sharing her inspirational journey with us. Cheers, and namaste!

Elite Ruby Director with Traveling Vineyard
With International Yoga Day upon us, I thought it would be fun to share my passion for yoga and wine and how they intersected once upon a time. International Yoga Day falls annually on June 21 and coincides with the first day of summer and summer solstice—the longest day of the year (more time for yoga… and wine!)
I stumbled upon the Traveling Vineyard opportunity in December 2016. My initial thoughts were “how have I not heard about this before?” As it turns out, Traveling Vineyard had just opened in the state that I lived in, so I wasted no time jumping in and getting started. I just had a great feeling about it and knew I needed in on this incredible opportunity.
Right around the same time, I began to feel burnt out in my teaching career. I was a single mom, a full-time teacher, and a doctoral student, and added to it an amazing side hustle. Being a wine guide was the highlight of my work-life—it was fun, super stress-free, and allowed me to have some adult time. I got so much fulfillment, flexibility, and recognition for this job that I wasn’t finding in my full-time career. It made the stress at my teaching job feel more obvious and unbearable. Why would I want to give my time and precious energy to a profession that did not seem to value me at all? I had this whole other community of people who did value me and weren’t afraid to show it.

Traveling Vineyard made me realize that I didn’t have to settle for the burnt-out teacher life if I didn’t want to. I felt so good living the #wineguidelife, that I decided to dive deep into self-care. As a committed yoga student, I decided to do my 200-hour yoga teacher training in 2019. The clearer I got, and the more I slowed down and listened to my intuition, the more I knew that I needed to be doing the things that I really loved, and I was convinced that I could marry them all together and successfully be a full-time entrepreneur. If the pandemic taught me anything, it was that life is short and we don’t get our time back.
Now you can find me doing wine tastings, teaching yoga, and working with women as a life coach. I am literally living the dream. My favorite yoga classes to teach are my Yoga & Wine classes because they are great for those new to yoga. Many people seem to be intimidated by yoga, but every body really is welcome. The only thing you need to do to be “good” at yoga is to show up with an open mind! Yoga and Wine classes keep it fun, playful, and lighthearted (plus, there’s wine!). If you are new to yoga but feel like you have always wanted to give it a try, look up your local yoga and wine classes. I can promise that you won’t be disappointed. What better way to celebrate International Yoga Day, than with a Yoga & Wine class?
