Fall in Love with Seasonal Sangrias

Fall in Love with Seasonal Sangrias

Cooler weather and changing leaves signal that fall has arrived, and what better way to celebrate than sharing a pitcher of sangria with the ones you love. Wine Guide, Ashleigh Campbell, has rounded up her favorite fall sangria recipes to sip on for the pumpkin carving, leaf peeping, and fire pit fall nights ahead.

Sangria is the ultimate wine cocktail, and should be enjoyed all year round. My favorite season is fall, so naturally if I can take all the delicious fall flavors and put them in a glass with some wine, I’m going for it! I’ve rounded up my three go-to sangrias for when the leaves start changing color, and the days start getting cooler. Let’s dive in!

Pumpkin Sangria

This pumpkin sangria is so simple and so yummy! The cinnamon stick and pumpkin candy garnish really tie in the festive fall theme. You can even take this up a fall-notch and substitute apple cider for the mango-peach juice blend. I promise it won’t disappoint! For the perfect wine, I like to make this with a medium bodied white. Try it with our 2020 Peekaboo, Chardonnay to add some elements of peach and melon flavors. You can also make this recipe a little sweeter and fizzy with our Fissata Blonde!

Spiced Apple Cider Sangria

Spiced apple cider sangria makes me want to walk around an apple orchard with a glass in one hand, and an apple cider donut in the other. The red and green colors of apples mimic the leaves changing colors on the trees. For this recipe, I recommend letting the sangria pitcher marinate in the fridge for at least a day. This will help the wine soak up all the yummy spices! Try this recipe with our crisp and lively 2019 Bella Mente, Pinot Grigio. The green apple flavor of this wine pairs perfectly with the spiced apple flavors for the sangria!

Autumn Harvest Fall Sangria

Calling all red wine lovers – this Autumn harvest sangria is for you! The cinnamon syrup is the added element that takes what may seem like a traditional sangria, and elevates it to taste like fall in a glass. When adding your wine, I recommend our 2018 Cucharón, Red Wine Blend. This red wine has components of Malbec, Petit Verdot and Tannat. These components create a dark berry fruit forward flavor with a hint of anise, that accentuates the cinnamon syrup.
