Zeffer Hills, Chardonnay, San Benito, California - 2013
Taste
Aromas of almond and apple with some lemony citrus woven in. The palate shows fresh cut apple and notes of toast. A straight-forward Chardonnay with freshness vibrancy and exhibiting a lengthy finish.
Varietal
98.64% Chardonnay, 0.050% Viognier, 0.473% Sauvignon Blanc
Region
San Benito County, Central Coast CA
Winemaking
Though the Chardonnay was barrel fermented and barrel aged, you do not taste the oak, you sense it. In this wine, oak is used more as a tempering agent, not a dominant flavor.
