Calamity Sue, 2013 Arroyo Seco, California, Riesling

Taste

A nose of white flowers and ripe pear. Juicy, with brilliant acidity and extraction which make a nice counterpoint to the small amount of residual sugar. Mineral aspect you can sense rather than taste.

Varietal

100% Riesling

Winemaking

Stainless steel fermentation, no oak contact.

I found this wine a leading change from cloying sweet reislings. That said, I found it to be tasteless and devoid of layers.

What a pleasant surprise. I've never found a Riesling that I enjoyed - until our wine guide helped us pair it with the right foods. I couldn't believe the difference! She's crisp with a hint of sweetness that is perfect with a spicy dish!

Love subtle after taste and fruity over times. A great wine to relax with after work.
