For Joel, the path to Traveling Vineyard was all about being in the right place at the right time and recognizing the best opportunity.
When Joel’s then-girlfriend brought him along to a direct marketing seminar, he saw a gleaming display of wine bottles across the crowd and his curiosity was piqued—along with most of the rest of the seminar-goers.
When they drifted over to the table in question, they found a Traveling Vineyard Wine Guide waxing eloquent on the delicious wines served at her in-home wine tasting events.
After talking for a bit, Joel realized the untapped potential for growth in the Denver area. As he puts it, “People love their wine.” He joined Traveling Vineyard as a Wine Guide two weeks later and, with the help of his mentor, he hit the ground running.
Joel invested in his Success Kit and was able to meet his launch goals in just over a month. And in attending networking groups and building his team, he’s been able to indulge his social side more easily than in his days as a lone CAD contractor. He recently earned a promotion to a three-star leader and he’s taking pride in the new responsibility. “I’ve never been the ‘boss’ before, so I’m learning as I go,” he says. “It is nice seeing my choices and decisions have a direct impact—and consequences—on things. Working for myself with Traveling Vineyard is ultimately what I want to do as a full-time job.”
