It was at the playground with her then-quite-small daughters that Debbie struck up the conversation that would bring her to Traveling Vineyard. Another mom mentioned that she did in-home wine tastings, which Debbie had never heard of before. “You can get paid for that?” she thought. “Are you kidding me?”
Her husband told her to go for it; she purchased her starter kit a week later. It wasn’t hard to tap into her friends and connections (home town girl, remember) and she knew that they would be all over it.
She started with a modest goal: make enough money to take over the car payment and to take off some financial pressure from their family. It only took one wine tasting a week.
But what runner stops with a 5K? You start training for the 10K and eventually, if you love it enough, the marathon.
That’s Debbie’s story. She started small. But by the six-year mark, she had caught the bug and started actively promoting the business opportunity at her tastings and via Facebook. She’s seen her team grow to over 170 people, becoming one of only six Traveling Vineyard Directors.
What started as a car payment eventually replaced a full-time income at a corporate bank.
That’s the marathon.
