Winemaking
This wine was made in the vineyard. Grown in the high-altitude Alice Vineyard, latitude 46 degrees north. The altitude slowed down the ripening process and ensured the grapes developed enough acidity in addition to full, ripe fruity characteristics. The day and night temperature swing enhanced the ripeness vs acidity, while the longer time in the intense sun (higher altitude) unveiled riper fruitier notes. Barreled down to tank from the 2016 harvest early autumn 2020 using as little oak as possible.

Why We Love It
A Gold Medal Malbec
This 2016 Malbec earned a Gold medal and 91 point rating at the World Wine Championships. The judges described the wine as having “aromas and flavors of chocolate-covered toffee, pickled berries, spiced plums, and blueberry crepes. A voluptuous, chocolatey Malbec that delivers brooding fruit and spice.”
