One of my favorite places to be during the summer is outside on my front porch. I love sitting and relaxing with a refreshing glass of wine, on a beautiful hot day. There is no denying that summer is my absolute favorite season! While others are anxiously awaiting that first cool, crisp breeze of fall air, I am hanging onto every moment of bright sunshine and warmth that we have left.
As the end of summer approaches, I’ve gathered a few of my favorite summer wines that are absolute winners from Traveling Vineyard. I highly recommend grabbing these wines to help cool off with on a hot summer day.

2020 Pearls and Kicks, Rosé
Rosé all day with our 2020 Pearls and Kicks, Rosé from Washington! This Rosé has become one of my favorite sippers for when the weather gets hot. It’s has a crisp and refreshing mouthfeel with balanced acidity. You’ll notice hints of both watermelon and red berry flavors with this wine!
Perfect Pearls and Kicks pairings: fish tacos, teriyaki chicken, strawberry ice cream

2020 Smirk, Muscat of Alexandria
When I am craving a little summer sweetness, 2020 Smirk, Muscat of Alexandria is a go-to bottle I have to have. Smirk has always been my favorite spring into summer sipper, when we have it in stock at Traveling Vineyard. Muscat has a light, clean finish that is super refreshing with just the right amount of sweetness. It features sorbet flavors in a glass with a burst of mandarin orange perfect for any summer day (or night!).
Perfect Smirk pairings: mango salsa, buffalo chicken, kettle corn

2020 Squeeze the Day, Chenin Blanc
You can call Traveling Vineyard’s newest release, 2020 Squeeze the Day, Chenin Blanc, sunshine in a bottle! This new release just might become my newest go-to summer sipper! Not only does the label scream sunshine with the yellow colors and lemons accents, but the flavors and aromas are bursting with citrus smells like lemon. With just the right amount of acidity, it will be sure to leave your palette refreshed after a glass.
Perfect Squeeze the Day pairings: goat cheese, brunch everything, lemon bars

2016 Tanglerose, Front Porch Red
The summer wine that I love to cozy up with on the porch, fittingly, is 2016 Tanglerose, Front Porch Red. Tanglerose is an equally balanced blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and 50% Merlot. One great thing about this wine, suggested by our Director of Sommology Leslie Sbrocco, is that this wine can be chilled down a bit more than a traditional red blend, making it lighter and easier to drink. It has a vibrant fruit quality, with a lovely dark cherry flavor, layered in with some toasted elements. These qualities make it the perfect red to drink outdoors on a warm night.
Perfect Tanglerose pairings: meatballs, raspberry chocolate, bbq potato chips
