Our Favorite Moments from Harvest Vegas 2018

Our Favorite Moments from Harvest Vegas 2018

Harvest Vegas 2018 is in the books, but we’re still flying high on the memories! Harvest is our annual Wine Guide conference where we come together for learning, networking, friendship, inspiration and celebration. Each year, it gets better and better! Here’s a recap of our favorite moments from Harvest Vegas 2018.

Rachel Hollis (a.k.a. the sixth Backstreet Boy)

Rachel Hollis

New York Times bestselling author Rachel Hollis on the Harvest 2018 stage.

The mainstage at Harvest is always amazing, but this year at Planet Hollywood was extra special because we shared the stage with the Backstreet Boys. Well, okay, not exactly. They rocked Zappos Theater at night, and we rocked it during the day. BUT, during the day, the Backstreet Boys set list was still taped the stage floor—so that basically made us rock stars, too. No one embodied the rock star vibe more than our special guest speaker, Rachel Hollis, whose entrance we will never forget. In fact, it’s a performance that qualifies her as the sixth Backstreet Boy. View her epic entrance on our Facebook page.

Rachel also got Wine Guide Nation on its feet, showing us how to create our own energy with a simple tool that goes something like this: count down from five and then get it done. Boom. You are your own motivation! Just GO! Rachel shared this simple motivational tool with us as well as other real life ways to rock the Wine Guide Life, all based on her New York Times bestselling book, Girl, Wash Your Face. We are so grateful to Rachel for sharing her energy with us! Are you a fan? Check her out on Instagram.

Laughing & Learning with Jon Acuff

Jon Acuff Traveling Vineyard

Jon Acuff speaks to the art of actually achieving the goals you set with tips from his book, Finish: Give Yourself the Gift of Done.

This is the second time we’ve invited Jon Acuff to speak at Harvest, and as always, he is the master of sparking our souls with his inspirational anecdotes while keeping us in stitches. Jon is a New York Times bestselling author, speaker, and in our opinion, fantastic comedian. How does he do it? His answer would probably be a good pre-show queso—our answer is that he’s a pro. Jon talked to us about the importance of not just setting a new goal, but actually meeting it—in other words, how to FINISH. Based on his latest book, Finish: Give Yourself the Gift of Done. He also reminded us to enjoy the journey. Make it fun if you want it done. As Wine Guides, we were kinda made for that mantra. We absolutely love Jon, and if you haven’t experienced his storytelling, we invite you to get to know him on Instagram.

Traveling Vineyard wine fall 2018

Wine reveals for the holiday tasting season!

New Wine Releases

The Wine Guide Life is all about the 5Fs, especially fun. But it’s also about the wine! And at Harvest Vegas 2018, we made sure to celebrate the sippers that will be making memories in the coming months. We announced new wines on the way from Traveling Vineyard, and Wine Guide Nation went crazy. From a delicate and sophisticated new Pinot Gris, called Fil Doré (coming soon) to our new Malbec, Bailando, that’s already flying off the rack. Which one are you most excited about?

Epic Lip Sync Battle

Traveling Vineyard Harvest Conference

Lighting up the stage with an epic ’80s style lip sync battle.

Combine ’80s night with an in-character lip sync battle, and you have the ingredients for the best night ever. Our Thursday welcome party, which we call WinedUp, took us back in time to the days of neon leg warmers and big hair. In the words of Lionel Richie, we partied “all night long.” WWF wrestlers danced with Material Girls, and Tina Turner rolled with Richard Simmons. Hair bands mingled with the Breakfast Club, and even our Chief Grape Stomper Rick Libby donned his Miami Vice finest.

On the stage, we rocked it, too. We captured some of the performances and shared them on the Traveling Vineyard Instagram TV channel (and you’ve just got to watch!). The winning Wine Guide performance was a rendition of the Run DMC-Aerosmith song “Walk This Way.” Here’s a link to more images from our Totally Awesome ’80s Party.

Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas Harvest Traveling Vineyard

Traveling Vineyard took over Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas for a VIP night with Wine Guide Nation.

Brooklyn Bowl VIP Night

On the last night of Harvest, we celebrated in true Las Vegas style! We took over the amazing Brooklyn Bowl on the Las Vegas strip for a private, invitation-only VIP Night! Wine Guides enjoyed endless apps and live music by Vegas Limited All Request Live.

At the end of the night, we found out that Harvest 2019 will be even more EPIC! We’re headed back to Las Vegas in July 2019 and taking over Caesar’s Palace, and we can’t wait. Special thanks to our event teams InventiveEnvironments and Masterfully Planned . They make our celebrations the very best they can be!
